Wide view of natural stone samples for a garden selection walkthrough

See your stone in your own light before you commit to it

A guided walkthrough that puts real samples in front of you, in the setting where they'll actually live.

The promise

By the end of this session you'll have a shortlist of stones that actually suit your setting — not a catalogue page, but pieces you've held, seen wet, and considered against the way light falls across your own garden. You'll leave with something written down, not just an impression.

The problem

Choosing stone from a showroom sample or a photo is difficult — colour and texture shift considerably once wet, and what looks right under gallery light can feel out of place once it's set against your own soil, plants, and weather. It's a common source of hesitation, and an understandable one.

The solution

We bring physical samples to your plot or meet you on site, working through local and imported stone types together. We look at sawn, split, flamed, and tumbled finishes side by side, and talk through how each tends to weather over a decade in a damp climate — grounded in how the stone actually behaves, not just how it looks today.

The experience

The session runs around 90 minutes, at a pace that leaves room for questions. We assess colour wet as well as dry, since rain changes many stones considerably, and we talk openly about which options tend to be harder to source at short notice, so nothing comes as a surprise later.

The investment

¥2,200

  • · Physical samples left with you for a week
  • · Written shortlist with frost resistance and slip ratings
  • · Approximate tonnage for the areas discussed
  • · Honest notes on sourcing timelines

The proof

The written shortlist we leave you with reflects specification, not opinion — frost resistance and slip ratings drawn from how each stone type performs, plus tonnage figures you can take to any contractor. Most owners find the samples left behind become the deciding factor once they've lived with them for a few days.

The guarantee

There's no obligation to proceed with any recommendation from this session. If, after a week with the samples, none of the shortlist feels right, we're happy to revisit the options with you.

Next steps

Send us a message with a little about your garden and where it is, and we'll arrange a time that suits you. There's nothing to prepare in advance.
