A plan drawn before the first stone is set
A scaled composition sketch for your rockery or paved area, with a sequence you can actually follow.
HomeThe promise
You'll receive a scaled drawing that turns an idea for a rockery or paved area into something you, or a contractor, can actually build from — with the setting order, bedding depth, and material quantities already worked out.
The problem
Rockeries placed by eye on the day often look uneven once the stone settles, and paving laid without a falls plan can pool water in the wrong places. Working it out as you go tends to mean more wasted stone and more second-guessing than planning it beforehand.
The solution
For rockeries, we set out stone placement in plan and elevation with a numbered setting order, bedding depth for each piece, and the orientation of the strata so beds run consistently, as they would naturally in the ground. For paving, we cover coursing pattern, joint width, falls for surface water, and a cutting schedule aimed at keeping waste down.
The experience
Suited to areas up to 60 square metres, the session covers your space and your intentions for planting or use, and results in a drawing with a 1-metre reference square so scale is always clear.
The investment
¥3,300
- · A scaled drawing with a 1m reference square
- · Stone schedule with sizes and approximate weights
- · A setting sequence, heaviest pieces first
- · Guidance on what suits DIY and what needs lifting gear
The proof
The setting sequence is written so the heaviest pieces are placed while site access is still open, avoiding the common problem of a finished rockery blocking the route the biggest stones needed to travel. Planting pockets are sized to the species you have in mind, not left as an afterthought.
The guarantee
If the drawing needs adjusting once you've had a chance to review it against your space, we're glad to revise it. There's no obligation to have us carry out the build.
Next steps
Send us a message with the approximate size of the area and what you have in mind, and we'll take it from there.
